This Week's Scripture

Hebrews 10:38-39, KJV

Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. 39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

Isaiah 56:7

Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.

Convocation UpdateCelebrating Black History

The month of February is celebrated as a month to acknowledge the achievement of African Americans and those who have made substantial contributions to the growth and perpetuation of the black culture and society in general. Although, we too honor these great achievers, 29 days cannot effectively encompass the achievements of one, no less the work of them who have labored among us. However, all are encouraged to remember and give God thanks not only for the service given for the promulgation of the plight of social equality and eminence of cultural identity, but also entirely for those who served for the saving of our souls.

Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins. -James 5:19-20

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
- Jeremiah 1:5
